As many of you already know, because of COVID-19 concerns, the 2021 Michigan Family Support Council (MFSC) Fall Conference was cancelled this year. However, you should know that this year, like other years, the MFSC Board will be accepting nominations to recognize individuals in the Michigan Child Support Program who have made significant contributions to Michigan's children and families.
You may nominate a child support professional in the following award categories:
- Office of Child Support (OCS) Supervisor
- OCS Field Staff
- Prosecutor/Assistant Prosecutor
- Prosecutor Staff
- Friend of the Court Supervisor
- Friend of the Court Staff
- Outstanding Achievement (Program or Individual)
- Judicial Award
To make a nomination, please complete the online form at MFSC Awards by October
31, 2021. Award winners will be
announced by email notification and on the MFSC Awards page. If you have any questions, please contact the
Awards Chair at awards@mifsc.org.
In addition to working on award nominations, the MFSC Board also recently elected new officers. The new officers are:
- President - Amy Gilmore (OCS)
- Vice President - Marcia Coughlin (Saginaw County Friend of the Court)
- Treasurer - Sheila Waldrop (OCS)
- Secretary - Johanna Prince (Genesee County Friend of the Court)
The MFSC Board would like to thank Jeanette Miracle-Leshan
for her countless hours of hard work while serving as MFSC Board President for
the past three years.
The MFSC Board will continue its efforts to support, protect,
and promote the rights of minor children by providing information and services
to those officials responsible for the investigation and recommendation of
custody, parenting time, and the establishment and collection of child support.
